FTI, one of Germany’s favorite tour operators, went bankrupt
After FTI, one of Germany’s largest tour operators, declared bankruptcy and a trustee was appointed, anxiety began for German tourists in Alanya. The uncertainty created by the fact that it was not yet clear what the situation of the guests who purchased their holidays in advance would be, created a crisis atmosphere in the facilities. TÜROFED Board Member and ALTİD President Burhan Sili stated that the situation is very bad for Alanya.
German tourists WILL NOT come to Alanya this year!
President Sili said, “FTI group was one of the important tour operators that brought guests to Antalya and Alanya. It had around 1 million pax. Nearly 200 thousand of them were coming to Alanya. Therefore, the fact that this operator has suddenly entered such a difficulty is not a positive situation for both Antalya and Alanya tourism.
This will be fixed soon. This situation affects not only the tour operator but also the people to whom the sales organizations sell holidays. Meetings are currently continuing. This is an extremely negative situation at a time when costs are high and we are facing exchange rate pressure. “I hope the most appropriate solution will be found as soon as possible and we can continue on our way,” he said.
