Turkish Petroleum Joint Stock Company (TPAO) was given permission to explore for oil in 3 different regions in the Marmara Sea.

The Decision of the General Directorate of Mining and Petroleum Affairs of the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources on Petroleum Rights was published in today’s Official Gazette.

Accordingly, it was decided to grant oil exploration permission to TPAO for 8 years for the marine fields of 13 thousand 149 hectares within the Tekirdağ provincial borders, 54 thousand 238 hectares in Tekirdağ and Balıkesir and 27 thousand 668 hectares in Tekirdağ and Çanakkale.

Oil exploration permission was granted in 3 different regions.
